This copy of a 1607 English edition of the Geneva Bible is a vivid example of gauffered edges. The gilt edges have been decorated by using a tool or block to indent a small repeating pattern into them. The binding is of nineteenth century black morocco.

The front board of this Victorian era copy of Fleetwood’s Life of Christ is decorated with a blind-stamped panel. The pattern is impressed on the leather by means of an engraved wood or metal panel stamp bearing the complete design.
