Helen Leach (1945-) is an Emeritus Professor of Anthropology at the University of Otago whose research interests include the evolution of the human diet and prehistoric horticulture.
The youngest of the three Keedwell sisters, she was born in Wellington and attended Otago Girls’ High School from 1958-1962. She completed her PhD at the University of Otago in 1976 and has written (and co-written with her sisters) numerous books on garden history and food anthropology.
