Sholes Visible Typewriter, produced by the Meiselbeck Typewriter Company of Kinasha, Wisconsin, in 1901.
Research by staff at the Port Chalmers Regional Maritime Museum has revealed that this typewriter was used by Robert Falcon Scott and may also have been used by Ernest Shackleton.
