These four writers could all be said to bring insider knowledge to their writing. Colin Peel worked for many years in the aerospace industry as a weapons systems engineer and often sets his crime in that milieu. Anne Perry was convicted of murder as a child in New Zealand and now writes historical crime novels set in her new home, the United Kingdom. Michael Wall has been a Chief Press Secretary in the government and Michael Laws has been a Member of Parliament and Mayor of Whanganui. Both Wall and Laws bring their insider knowledge to their political crime novels.
