Formerly from Scotland and now lecturing at the University of Otago, Professor Liam McIlvanney is the son of award winning writer William McIlvanney, creator of Inspector Jack Laidlaw. However, Liam McIlvanney has won his own award for Where the Dead Men Go, which was the Ngaio Marsh Award winner for 2014.
Gerry Conway is a reporter for the Glasgow Tribune whose investigations into the Scottish Justice Minister form the basis of All the Colours of the Town. Glasgow is more than just a background in this examination of sectarian violence in both Ireland and Scotland.
