Although one of New Zealand’s most prolific writers with twenty published crime novels to his credit, little recognition has been given to Norman Berrow. Like his contemporary, Ngaio Marsh, he was brought up and educated in Christchurch. He spent some time in Gibraltar which becomes Eulalie Island in his novels featuring Michael Revell as the investigator. Setting was important for Berrow whose novels also featured Winchingham, England, Sydney and Christchurch.
